 any metal utensils and containers) is that the fermented milk is acidic and will dissolve a tiny bit of the metal and people probably prefer not to injest any of the metal. I once measured the pH of kefir with pH paper and got a reading of about pH 4 or pH 5. This is about as acidic as vinegar
. It will not quickly dissolve metal, but just to be safe, I usually use plastic or crockery. You kefir grains are huge.
